When I try and get a ringtone (one of the real ringtones) it has my provider (Cingular) but it does not show any motorola models, does anyone know why this is?

    REAL Tone and True Tone

    pipskicks,

That would be because the "REAL" and "True" tones are not in a format that some phones can't play, because the phones do not have the ability to play those formats. Now Real Tones can be converted from one file format to another, but that's going to be something that you do on your computer first, and then upload to your phone.

Think of the ring tones like this VHS and Betamax video. Unless you convert either to a format that the VCR's that can play them. So you can put a Beta tape in a VHS machine all day, but unless the tape is converted or the VHS has the abilty to view the beta format, it's not happening.

    Here's the reason why...

The link below is from a Rintone site that explains why some of their rintones will not work on certain phones.

    No,

Only customers on the Sprint network have the ability to download real ringtones. This may change in the future but for now only Sprint can download these
