I'm running MPT on a desktop AMD with WinXP Pro and Office Pro. We just got a Dell E1705 for my wife which is running an Intell chip with WinXP Pro and Office Small Business Edition. So we both have what I think is the same version of Outlook.

MPT is running fine on my system. We had my wife's system running nicely, outlook was humming along just fine. Then we installed MPT on her laptop and Outlook came up with a message saying "Serious error -addin" or something to that effect and it closed immediately.

We uninstalled office, reinstalled, and still had the problem, except we didn't get the error message anymore, outlook would just close.

We used a Dell utility to return the pc to out-of-the-box state. Now outlook works. We installed MPT and the problem immediately returned. We uninstalled MPT tools and outlook works.

We are using MPT version 3.11h. Why the problem on the laptop but the desktop is just fine? Any ideas on what the problem is?

When you have MPT tools open, go to your MENU & select Live Update & that should upgrade you to Version 4. I am surprised that yours is only version 3. I personally hate how MPT merges your phones contacts into Outlook.

Do you expect that to fix the problem with outlook? I'm a little leery of risking the problem again.

I didn't realize that MPT merged the phones contacts into outlook. Are you saying that if create a contact on the phone, MPT will put it into outlook contacts?
