    Re: v3i game question?

Ok so I bought a game/ etc... CD off ebay and when I go to transfer the games from my comp to my phone using MPT and USB cable it says the phone does not support media type. This happens for both the JAR files and SIS files. Should they be able to transfer right over or am I missing a step?

    Re: v3i game question?

The Cingular v3 settings will work on the v3i, but you have to enter them manually. Don't do the OTA (over the air update) because it will lock the settings and you can't change that websession on your phone. Set up a new websession, but here's the most important part- Don't use http://device.home as the homepage! That is for the Medianet homepage, which you can't access because the v3i doesn't have Cingular software on it. Some people say they can access it on the v3i and that's great, but alot of people report that it doesn't. Maybe if you mod/flex/flash your phone you can, but I don't feel the need to do that.

I use http://wap.oa.yahoo.com/ as the homepage and I'm able to get online. You will be able to go online and search the mobile web, but you can't get the Cingular Medianet homepage. Try this and let me know if it works. Once you get it to work, set it as the default websession.

I did this 6 days ago after reading many threads on various forums and sadly there are alot of people that don't have the v3i giving 'advice' on it.

As for downloading a game, I haven't done that on my v3i yet, so once you get the internet to work, let us know how it goes. I don't know if you can download a game through Cingular since you have to go through medianet, which you can't access. Maybe a third party java game or program could be downloaded?
