subsidy unlock codes work in conjunction with your IMEI/ESN numbers on your handset, each code is different, we do not have nor do we provide unlock codes, don't ask.

Re: UNLOCK CODES
Glad this place is civilized. Thanks for good moderation.
Where do I go to get unlocked so I can throw away built-in ringtones on my new RAZR V3 / T-Mobile? I have heard that I need to unlock the phone before I can delete the standard ringtones and free up some memory space.
Is this correct?
TIA,
Ken

Re: UNLOCK CODES
I will just talk to myself here then, I requested the unlock code from T-Mobile but they refused saying I had not been a customer for the minimum required 90 days. Something to take note of if you are new and want your unlock code. I will try again after 90 days are up.

That applies mainly to businessmen., or simply vacationers in foreign countries.
In addition to the layman, it allows you to buy a phone and use it with any provider you choose to use in your home country.
If that phone is LOCKED. Inserting a foreign sim card will cause the phone to say "enter subsidy code" and will NOT let you do much more than power down or enter the code .
Enjoy.

Re: UNLOCK CODES
Thanks bubble.tea,
Great to have that explaination, so clear and not to be found anywhere else that I have looked.
So, I don't reallly need the unlocking code to do some modifications to my RAZRV3 like deleting some of the standard ringtones from the bunch that were included with the phone?

Re: UNLOCK CODES
Yes, exactly.
Unlocking, and Phone Modifications are TWO independent (interdependent? what's the difference?) different ball games.
If you want to follow up on modding your Razr...well I believe search for a present thread, and follow-up on it., or if nothing (doubtfulY) start a new one.
It's a fun hobby modding these motos I tall yaLast edited by bubble.tea; 07-18-2006 at 03:45 PM.
