Is it possible to setup an e815 so that the soft key for contacts brings up the contact category(VIP, general...) instead of the cat you pick in the cat menu? thanks

Well, to assign different things to your softkeys and the others on your main screen, go to:

Click on Menu
Then Settings
Then Personalize
Then Home Screen
And finally Home Keys

Here you can assign whatever you'd like to the UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, and both LEFT and RIGHT Soft Keys.

I can get contacts to come up, which list all contacts in whichever category you have programmed in the contacts, categories menu, but I am trying to get all the categories, no contacts, to be listed so I can just pick whichever category I need from the soft key.
