Most new Motorola phones use the same USB cable as a Blackberry, so if you work for a large corporation, just ask one of the guys in the IT department if they have an extra Blackberry USB cable. Otherwise your local cell phone store should have one, which is still cheaper than buying the software/cable bundles sold on the web. Then you download the MPT for free and you just saved yourself some $20-$30. I say any time you can save a buck or 20, do it!

Also, check your other USB connected devices. Newer digital cameras, PDAs and some MP3 players use this standard mini-USB plug. You probably already have one, or may know someone that does. Myself, I have 3 devices (PDA, MP3 player, and digital camera) that all use the same plug as my phone.
