ok here is my question and i am sorry but a newbie here... ok so if i purchase a cell phone "unlocked" and it was originally cingular and now i have t-mobile can i still download games ringtones etc. i am looking at buying a razor i like the cosmic blue any advice i currently have v360 and not happy with phone

Unlocked means it will work with most Service providers
(cingular/att/t-mobile) as long as your service provider uses sim cards sim cards are the little chips under the battery.... as for downloading stuff yes it should work ...

i know the phone will work for things such as phone calls, but i am wondering if i would be able to download ringtones or games for example.

A full unlocked phone will work on any GSM network as stated above. Once the phone has been activated on the T-Mobile Network, you should be able to download anything you want that T-Mobile has to offer.

thank you so much. i had purchased a cingular phone once before however i couldnt get it to download anything for me. could have just been the phone. thanks i will give it another try if i can find one cheap

if you get a handset that's not T-Mobile branded, you will need to configure the handset in order to be able to use the phone's browser for downloading your games & ringtones as well as for text/pic messaging.
