I just ordered a V3 off the internet. When I talked to the guy over the phone about Unlocking and such he said that the only way the unlocked phone would work with my service provider (Fido), is if they already support the V3. Fido does support it, but I was going to order a phone from the States and use it here, one that no one in Canada has.
So if you have an UNLOCKED phone, can you use it on ANY service provider, even if that provider doesn't sell that phone?

Re: Quick Question
As long as the phone is GSM and unlocked, you can use it with any other GSH provider that operates on the frequency band(s) that the phone can use.
CDMA providers will tend to only support phones they offer, no matter where they come from.
