Well, long story here. I got in an argument, got a little too angry, and threw the phone. The part of the phone that flips up somehow came off in the process. I looked in there, and there are 2 or 3 ribbons that are ripped, and the screen does not work at all. From what I can tell, the number pad and other buttons still work. Is there any way I can fix the phone and get the screen to work again? Thanks.

Re: E815 help...
Buy a new screen and replace it with the cracked one. You can do a search and find online vendors that carry it. You can also try looking it up on eBay. Another thing you can do is use the screen from another E815 phone that is not working and swap them.

Re: E815 help...
I think you might not get what I meant. The screen isn't cracked, nothing is cracked. Where the top of the phone (part that flips up) attaches to the number pad, inside there are 2 or 3 brown/gold-ish ribbons that are ripped in half, the other half being in the top section with the screen. Is there a way I can fix that without getting a new top part of the phone?
EDIT: Also, these ribbon cords looked like they ran from the number pad up into the LCD portion of the phone.Last edited by JJL24; 07-22-2006 at 06:46 AM.

Flex cable. You can get one on eBay. If you're not comfortable with replacing it, bring it in to a service center or have someone else do it.

Re: E815 help...
I know others have spoken of "Mobile Phone Tools" (MPT)... search the board and I am certain you can find links to it - I don't have personal experience with it

Re: E815 help...
Well, you are correct that there may be other parts that are "busted". When you bring it in to a service center and they take a look at it, usually the time when they say that it is beyond repair is because you're better off with a new phone. When fixing a damaged phone, sometimes it might actually cost more than buying a new one. But if you don't want to bring it to them, you can sometimes find someone who can repair it for you. Try & take a look in Craigslist in your area, and you might find someone who can help you.

Re: E815 help...
Another question: Is there a way I can remove the flipping part of the phone without possibly causing damage?

Re: E815 help...
Only one way to find out, you can try to do it yourself. However, doing that will void the warranty. Did you contact Verizon and see if you can get a replacement?
