What do you guys use to make your own ringtones? I've edited a song using Audacity down to around 30 seconds, but it is still over 500kb. How can I get it under 200kb?

    Re: Editing Ringtones

MPT will not reduce the ringtone down to 200kbs, in order to reduce the bites u will need to reduce the songs bit rate down to 46 which sounds really bad if u ask me, when the bitrate is at 46 the file size is 196kbs. I don't know if it allows u to turn the bitrate down on that software u are using but if it doesn't then u have to use DBpower Amp Music Converter, there might be other programs that let u reduce the bitrate but I personally use this one 'cause it only takes arround 3 secs to reduce the bitrate. Hope this helps ,as for adding them to the cellphone I use the same program as MotoFan.

You'll need to cut it down to about 64kbps. I've had it down lower and haven't noticed any diff in sound quality but I tend to stick with 64 "just because"

    Re: Editing Ringtones

Just as a heads up Motofan and any other members with L7's if you set your phone up as "memory card" in your connections tab you can do away with Mpt, midway, or any other software used to transfer pics, games, and ringtones. You just have to transfer them from your card to your phones mem. Prob the same with any phone with a mem card
