L7 SLVR Ringtone same as MSG tone

My new moto L7 is able to have mp3 ring tones put on it by motorola phone tools, but when I set a custom ringer for a person, it also doubles as the message notification sound played when they message me. This ends up being quite annoying because 1) I never can tell the difference between an actual call and a message and 2) I dont want to hear the same bloody song 5 times an hour.

I have been looking around the web for someone else with this problem, but have come up empty handed. If anyone knows a way around this, or even that this behavior is normal, I would greatly appreciate a response.

My L6 does that as well. I always have to look at the screen to see if someone is calling or if it's just a message. I've been meaning to piddle around and see if there's a way to change it.

This exists through most of the moto products guys.

My razrs are the same way.

So i dont use the ringer id no more because of it.
Still use different ring tones, just cant use them for id ringers without gettin them every time a sms or mms comes in.

Kinda frustrating.

Ah well it'll be alright I guess It doesn't bother me too bad. I like my ringtones anyway lol

Well that is kinda crappy, but oh well. Thanks for your help guys.

I'll look for a way around it and let you know. If anyone finds or knows a way to disable the message tone or something, keep this thread up to date.

Yeah, i definately will guys, still looking .

I dont like it like this, i have 3 of the razrs on a family thing, the sole ringer is only thing to ID our phones apart lol.(Nevermind when the Texts start flying in.)
