I recieved a V551 for free from someone who was giving it away. They had removed the SIM Card, so I went to Cingular, got the SIM and a plan and now have everything on the phone working, but I have a few questions.
Firstly, how many default ringtones should be on the V551? I see a (in my opinion) startlingly low number, only 14 of them, and the majority are just short blips (examples: TaDa, Chimes, Ding, Notify). Should there be more on here and how would I be able to get them?
Secondly, perhaps in tune with the first question, why is there only one base track in the MotoMixer (Spooky)? I have a strange hunch there should be many more.
Third, for custom ringtones, which programs out there are truly legit and aren't just ploys to get my phone number and send them to advertising agencies?
Fourth, in the main menu, it specifically says "Games", so why is there only ONE game and why is it a Demo of a game (Bejewled)?
I ask these questions because I expected much more from the phone other than what I'm seeing. It's honestly pretty depressing, and am wondering if prehaps some content was removed/deleted by the previous owner.

Answers to your questions
#1. Total default ringtones are 43
#2. Total basetracks for motomixer are 6
#3. You can add your own MP3 ringtones onto the phone using an MP3 cutter and using DBPoweramp to reduce the quality of the ringtone.
#4. For games all phones come with just a demo of a game, in order to add games u can read the tutorial on how to add games

In my opinion the default ringtones on the phone are all garbage da same goes for the Motomixer, if I were u I'd stick to custom ringtones (u decide what song to play as a ringtone), as for games I could care less about them because when u r playing games on the phone, the battery is draining faster, and for the answer that Mutwa gave I have to dissagree because this phone has no card to add music on. In order to add ringtones u will need a usb cable for the phone and a copy of Mobile Phone Tools.
Hope this answers all your questions clearlyLast edited by Latino21; 10-18-2006 at 03:51 PM.

Re: V551 General Questions (Please help)
So then how would I get the full number of default tones/MotoMix base tracks? Also, for answer #2, is that just how to make the ringtones? How would I send them to the phone?
Thanks for the help.

Re: V551 General Questions (Please help)
When I got my 551 new it came with four ringtones: Cingular Tune, Digital Signal, Moto and Resonance. Plus the chime tones for a total of 14 sounds.
The only Motomixer base track it came with was Spooky.
The only game that shipped with it was the Bejeweled demo.
Now I've got more games and ringtones than I care to count. Some will tell you that the only way to add tones to your phone is with the USB data cable. You can also use a USB bluetooth dongle since the 551 is bluetooth ready. I go yet another route: I upload tones to my Geocities free web site, then use the phone's web browser to go to the page where they're stored and download them to my phone. This works if you have a media package with your provider, in my case Cingular's MediaNet. I can help you with that process if you need it.
