    Hello All -

I have a Verizon Razr V3m that I'm trying to assign a TXT msg ringtone. I have an odd situation where I would like a different "notifcation" than the general one for the entire "txt inbox" catergory.

Our EMT/EMS dispatch will send a txt message with an e-mail addy for the sender. I.e. "[email protected]"

Now I added the contact directly from the txt message so I have the address correct. Assigned a ringtone "a.k.a. 'Siren' " which plays back with no prob and saved the contact. Contact shows up as the name I assigned "i.e. Dispatch".

However, every txt message I've been receiving has been the tone I've selected for all incoming txt's.

This use to work on my V276c phone.... Am I missing something?

    Thanks,
    Rob

On my phone I can set a ringtone to the e-mail address and each notification I get uses that ringtone instead of the default tone. Then I know who's mailing me by each unique tone. If your phone lets you do the same thing you'll be cookin'.

Yup, Invizzible's right. It's the equivalent of using assignable ringtones. Setting it to the email address will differentiate from the rest because it's a text message, not a phone call.
