    Hello
I recently bought a motorola L7 off ebay, it is a GSM quadband phone and unbranded, but i am using it with cingular.

i successfully connected it via usb cable to my computer. but when i try to transfer an mp3 song to the phone it says "unsupported format(mp3 codec may be inappropriate or missing". i want to use this song as my ringtone.
I did some researching on this forum, i found out i might need something called rsd lite. but i dont want to screw around with anything so i am just going to let someone who knows something help(please help... )...

    Thanks in advance!

What you need is Mobile Phone Tools.

Actually you should be able to transfer everthing, including games to this phones without any extra software. When you hook the phone up via your cable go to my computer and look for a removible device i.e. your phones sd card (should be whatever you named it when you formated it) After exploring the contents you should be able to tell where to send the mp3's, pics, games, etc. Chances are the mp3 isn't in the correct format..... and by the way once the tone is on your card you'll have to move it to your phone. You can do that by going to your ringtone folder hitting your soft menu (which is the same button as your normal menu) select switch storage device-select your card-scroll to the tone-hit your soft menu again-select move-and select your phone. Simple.... games you do the smae just install them to your phone or card doesn't matter you can still play them but if your tones aren't on your phone you won't be able to select the as ringtones.

    I figured it out
On my phone you choose the song, then go to copy to phone.

Wow your persistent, most of the time when you post a question it can take a day or so for someone to answer it (being as some of us have jobs) but don't fear, if you post a question and someone knows the answer they will answer....... even if they don't most will refer you to someone who does.

I dont have a job; I live with my parents and Im 42 years old.

I have another problem, sometimes when I try connecting to Phonetools it just shows(FREEZES) a load up screen after you picked which profile you wanted to load! If you reinstall the program itll work again, but after a couple of times of use it wont load, so I have to reinstall again! Any ideas?

JK about the living at home thing, and my age too.
