I was following a number of chain-linked directions on getting pictures off of a Moto RAZR V3 using the USB cable when I seen a screen in Motorola Phone Tools that said 'Please be sure your phone is not locked'.

my interpretion of 'locked' is that they mean make sure it's not locked to the carrier, right?

I'm actually doing this for my friend who has this Moto RAZR from Cingular, so I am not sure if it is locked to Cingular; But I'm guessing it is.

So if it IS locked, will this affect the ability to retrieve camera pictures from the phone via USB using Motorola Phone Tools 4.x and the V3 USB driver shared here??

Thank you for your help in advance.

No...it's doesn't mean locked to a carrier, it means to make sure that phone itself is not locked.

Some people, including myself have their phone lock itself on startup and they need to put in a 4 digit code to un-lock it.

I do this in case the phone is lost. This way nobody can use my phone unless they know the unlock code.

I'm pretty sure thats what MPT's is saying.
