emailing info to your phone?

hello everyone. well my friend was telling me that he figured out that he could edit songs to his liking using one of his programs. Then once he's done, he emails the song to his phone, and he can use it as his ringtone. He said I could probably do that with my motorola phone too, but doesn't know how. Do any of you know how I would be able to "mail" a file such as an mp3 to my motorola phone?

I heard somewhere that you could email stuff to your phone like this:

[email protected], just put in the number and the service provider

Not sure if it works though.

When I make ringtones I just upload them through a USB cable.
