Alright, this sounds like an obvious solution:
"Hey idiot, send texts when you have good service."
It's not that simple, sadly enough.
My friend got a new phone, so he gave me his old one (a Motorola v190). His service was Centennial (only in the Arklatex region), and I have Cingular. I was skeptical, and assumed it wouldn't work. However, when I put the sim card in, I called someone and it worked great. I tried to send a text message. Nothing.
I could receive them, but not send them. So today I go by Cingular and ask them, they tell me it's locked and there's nothing I can do. So, for some reason, I randomly try and send a text later today, and it worked. It worked about 6 or 7 times after that, and abruptly quit. The amount of service I had was irrelevant, apparently.
So, it texts when it feels like it. Any suggestions? This is really irritating.. and seeing as how I lost my old charger.. I'm stuck with this phone for a while.
