Hello, I am new to the site and I found you guys because I have been looking for a place to ask for some help regarding my V3t. I have been having trouble putting music on my V3t via my PC. Every time I attach the USB cable, I look into 'My Computer' and the 'Removable Disk' button appears for about 5 seconds and disapears. If I try to click on it, I get an error that says "Please insert a disk into Drive I:."
My connection settings are on Memory card too for your information. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for all the questions, but this is an odd problem that requires the process of elmination to diagnose.

Re: Help with transfering music on V3t
Thank you for trying to help me Bob. To answer your questions, the only USB peripheral I am using is my mouse. The USB cable came with my V3t and is still in good condition so im pretty sure it should be working fine. Lastly, there is no memory card in my phone.
Once again, thanks for replying.
EDIT: I just received a reply back from Motorola customer support and they said I need a program called Motorola Phone Tools to transfer music onto my phone. Every tutorial I read did not mention this as a nessecity for music, can anyone confirm?Last edited by Arganon; 06-11-2007 at 06:38 PM.

But, if you had a memory card in the phone, your PC could communicate directly with that with just the USB cable. The memory card is treated as a "removable disk". You can then use your phones software to transfer files from the memory card to the phones memory.
There is a free program called PK Commander that will do what MPT does, but it is a but unintuitive and buggy. MPT is worth the small investment if you are going to be transferring files more than once. If you are going to use your phone as an MP3 player, you'll quickly run out of space and need a memory card anyway. So you might as well buy that also.
You can find out more about the different methods of PC to Cell Phone file transfer at the link in my sig.Last edited by rjdriver; 06-11-2007 at 07:06 PM.
