I've had some problems with a couple phones in the past and I was hoping I was past those problems now, but the same problem has come to haunt even the phone I have now.

I used to use a v400 and after a few months of owning it I could not get any signal using its own antenna. In order to get a signal, I'd have to hook up an external antenna. This happened even in the city when I would normally get 5 bars with the built on antenna. Well I got rid of that phone and got a V551. It worked great for a while...then did the exact same thing...external antenna worked, built on antenna didnt. Then I bought another V551, and wouldnt you know, a few mornings ago it struck again. Now this phone's antenna will not pick up a signal either. I'm in a building where I was getting 5 bars monday, and tuesday I get nothing. I bring in my little homemade external antenna and plug it up and I get full bars again. Does anyone know what is going on? It IS NOT the sim card. I just got a brand new one tuesday morning hoping that was the problem. This new card works in other phones, but this phone still gets no signal even with this new card.
