Actually, you don't have to convert MP3s to WAV files, although it may depend on your carrier. As a VZW customer, I have downloaded a number of MP3 files as ringtones to my Moto Z6tv (I could also use MID files). I created the ringtones from longer MP3s using a free program called Audacity (a program similar to Goldwave), and then transferred the files to the appropriate folder on my phone using two other free programs: Motorola Software Update (MSU) and P2kCommander (P2kC).

BTW, if your phone is something other than a Motorola, you may have to use a program called bitpim (another free download) instead of Motorola Software Update and P2kCommander. I used to use bitpim with my LG VX8600, and it worked fine.

In what form do you have your karaoke music? Is it already on your computer? If you need to, you can actually record your karaoke with a mike using Audacity, edit the song (length, volume, etc.), and then "export" the finished product as a MIDI file.

You can go to ventones(dot)com to create ringtones and use dbpoweramp to convert them to the correct format for use with whatever type phone you have. Using this method you don't have to worry about service provider or phone model.
