I just purchased a Black RIZR Z3 ( I understand it's a Hong Kong version )
to use in the NYC area.
When I use the bluetooth ( Plantronics 340 ), do I always have to go to audio device link in the phone & select Plantronics, then punch in the 4 digit default code ?
Also, should I just leave the bluetooth "power" ON all the time so there's one less procedure to hassle with ?
My previous Moto phone ( V551) did all this automatically...just turn on the earpiece & I'm done.
Thanx

Re: RIZR Z3 help
Once you pair your phone you shouldn't have to re-entered the code, change your settings to automatic and yes you can leave your BT settings to "on" so that it pairs automatically.

Re: RIZR Z3 help
Is your Rizr unbranded or is it a T-Mobile version? either way you shouldn;t have to be entering your code once it's paired and saved onto your phone.

Re: RIZR Z3 help
It's a black ( unbranded model ) Z3. I called T-Mobile & actually spoke to someone who uses this phone, but she forgot how she was able to set it to auto mode for BT. She was using a Moto headset, my is Plantronics. The only thing I'll try today is setting the phone to auto answer/5 seconds & see what happens.

Re: RIZR Z3 help
If recall correctly, you will not see the option to automatically have your headset bond with your phone until you you have successfully paired them and set as a device on your phone's "device history".

Re: RIZR Z3 help
It is in my "device history".
Anyway, I went to a T-Mobile-ish place today & the guy there spent about 5 mins. fiddling with it & got it to connect automatically. He didn't seem interested in telling me what he did, so I assume he had to punch in a code since it was an un-locked phone that I'm using with Cingular/AT & T.
Maybe this was one of those things that doesn't work at first because AT & T did not set up the software yet.
So, it seems OK now.....thanx a lot for your concern.
