new phone want to add music to it

i just got a nextel i580 and im really happy with it...but i would like to add music to it but i dont know how i have a microsd adapter with a scandisk 64mb that goes into my computer now i got all the add to audio file and cant have the file name to long but it doesnt show up on my phone..im getin my music off of itunes cause thats the only thing that has the music i want on my phone it wont let me transpher it to windows media what am i doin wrong or what can i do...some of the files say mp4 can i change it to mp3 thanks for readin my post please help me thanx

The i580 will only play MP3s. If your music is MP4 or AAC you'll need to convert it to MP3 first.

There are probably freeware converters out there somewhere.
