I've charged my phone overnight and it never reaches fully charged status. The phone ever once stated "battery fully charged." Is there a remedy for this? I've received it unlocked and now it is out of warranty.

    This is a V3i w/o the iTunes.

    Thanks you!

Charging capabilty and the resultant usege after the charge has completed greatly depends on the age and condition of the battery. Some of these cell phone batteries have one very import first charge and battery charge retention and lifetime depemd on how long you charged the battery, Fill me in with more information in.

Well, I got the phone back in December, so it's not too old. Shall I get a new battery or a new charger and see what that does?

    THank you!

    Hello Zoopop,

The good news is that the battery is still under warranty since most cell phone battery manufactures, these days, warrant them - usually for a period of one year and I do believe Moto will cover you for that. Take it back to where you bought it and give them your battery complaint.

Your charger should be OK but just in case, you'll know if you experience the same when after you replace the battery.

P.S. - Let me know how you make out !

Batteries have no "memory effect" now a das, sounds like you simply have a defective battery.

Make sure the charging port/pins on your phone and battery are not dirty, you can clean with a pencil's eraser.

I replaced the battery and it still does the same thing. I think the v3i is a piece of s**t. And this is an unlocked phone and the company I bought it from only had a few days warranty because I wrote them about the problem and they told me it was out of warranty.

Not sure what to do about it.

Re: v3i - no full charge on battery?

Why is it always these V3 phones doing this.
The first charge for a moto battery will pretty much change the life time/talk time of the battery. Just like Mr. Tony was saying, it has a memory.
It should be charged 8 to 10 hrs for the first time, even though it says full within 2 or 3 hrs, its not.
carcharges were made for emegercy only. like if your phone battery dies on the road and you just have to take a picture of the naked guy running across the street all crazy
Was not made to replace your home charger.
Last meeting I had with sprint and moto.. the Moto guy said that it was proven that carchargers do not charge your battery at 100% but only about 75% and this can mess up battery memory.

you know what..let me put it in a simple way..V3 sucks since day one right when cingular first came out with it.

Most phone chargers will charge with 100 to 240v (says on the charger plug). Are there pros and cons to this? More specifically, does charging at 220V charge faster, but kill the battery faster?

Yabasta - The RATE of charge isn't effected by the differing voltage ratings and here's the reason why..

Understand the purpose first of all for the 220 Volt rating. The manufacturers of these electrical and electronic devices realize that their usage may not be just here in the United States and that they may be used in Europe or at least somewhere over seas where their standard voltage as well as plugs and everything else electrical is different than our own. Did you notice the difference in the cps rating ? We have 220 Voltz @ 60 Cycles per second here in the US (confusing ?) but the difference is in the cycles per second rating (NOW CALLED HERTZ) and that makes a BIG difference ! They can come over here and use their 50 Hertz equiptment with no damage to their cell phones but if we could plug our's in over there - they would burn up. FACT - You can go up in Hertz but you can't go down....

Our US standard is 120 Volts at 60 cycles per second now called Hertz (Long Story). Overrseas, they use 220 Volts at 50 cps/Hertz, The cell phones are therefoe built to work on 220 or 120 volts. but don't plug them into our 220 volts here in the US ! Actually you'll find that hard to do anyway since you have NO 220 volt adapter to do such a thing. That's to protect you and your product. The adapters simply change the voltage and the Cycles per second from 220 @ 50 to 120 @ 60 cps.

You can however, go to Radio Shack and buy a 200 Volt adapter but you'll find that it works in Europe only. Different plug .................
