w385 backlight stays on while charging..normal?

My w385 with metropcs display backlights stay on while charging..Talked with moto and they confirmed it's not 'normal', switched out for another at metro and the behavior is the same. I've seen similar posts for some carriers with this model. The other metro flip under 200 is the v3a which seems less pleasant to use ergonomically, and bit under featured for the price.

Anyone dealt with this? Is it even something to worry about?

No. Mine did that for the first time after I ran it through the washing machine. Woke up in the morning and the backlight has never come on since. Phone works fine otherwise, except that the caller ID is now obscured by the Verizon banner. This happened a few months later --sponaneously as far as I can tell.
