-Hey, so I just upgraded from the LG VX8000 to the new Motorola KRAVE. It is an awesome phone and it is the only one that has an original look and not just another touch screen phone, in my opinion. It was the only phone that could match the high standard set by my VX8000. Anyway, I searched on these forums and there isn't a lot of threads about it? Maybe I didn't search right? Well, for people who have this phone, I was wondering a few things. First, does typing with the touchscreen qwerty keyboard get easier? It seems my fingers are too big for it, and I don't have big hands...I think a stylus should've come with this phone honestly. Also, how do I delete call history, there doesn't seem to be an option for that? Lastly (for now), is it possible to set an image for the wallpaper when the phone is shut and then a different one when it is open? The manual doesn't say, but it acknowledges that there are "two screens" by the way it words it, open screen and shut screen? Any help is appreciated! Thanks a lot!

Re: Motorola KRAVE ZN4, questions!
I have noticed typing does get better...it is just something you need to get use to...but it never will become as good as typing on an actual keypad. Verizon Wireless usually doesn't include a stylus, but they do sell them. Click here for a VZW Stylus but I believe they are not made specifically for the Krave.
I haven't been able to delete call quality either. Eventually, the call quality just overwrites the other.
The wallpaper when the phone is shut cannot differ from when it is open.

Re: Motorola KRAVE ZN4, questions!
-Thank you very much for your quick reply! The call history and wallpaper is no big deal I was just curious about it. I think I might practice a little more at texting on the keyboard if I cant get better at it then I'll just buy the stylus I guess because I would like to utilize that cool feature. I forgot one other question, do you know what the capacity for the TEXT messages inbox is? It was only 50 on my VX8000 so I'm hoping its more than that on this phone

Re: Motorola KRAVE ZN4, questions!
-Ah cool okay, makes sense. That was an annoying thing about my VX8000 even though I loved it. I don't know about you, but when I saw that each text message could send up to 1000 characters I flipped! My previous phone only allowed 160, which seems so primitive and restrictive now lol, then again it was 4 years old I guess. Oh yeah so its not just me then right, there just arent a lot of threads on this phone yet? If so, please post any links you're aware of!
Thanks again for your help

Re: Motorola KRAVE ZN4, questions!
-So I just got a 4GB memory card today and I put 225 songs on it and they all transferred fast and work great on the phone, and I put some Seinfeld eps too. I had a movie to put on that is the same format as the TV shows but for some reason it didnt show up, it worked on my VX9400 though? All videos are in the MPEG-4 format, any clues why the movie didn't work? Also, I was wondering, how to transfer my custom ringtones made on my computer to the phone with the memory card? Do I put them in the 'sounds' folder or do I have to make a new 'ringers' folder on the memory card? Also, what is the ideal image size for a high-res wallpaper so that it fits the screen open and closed and doesn't cut anything off?

Re: Motorola KRAVE ZN4, questions!
-I actually found out how to do it. You have to make sure the ringtones are mp3 and not wav or wmv and then put them in the sounds folder. Then, on your phone go to the sounds folder and open the file you want as a tone, then select send as pic message to yourself, then when you get it, select set as ringtone. I don't know why they didn't just allow you to make/have a ringers folder and simply click and drag instead of this cumbersome/impractical method, but it does work, thats what counts. I now have 8 custom tones on my phone so its all good. I think the movie file was just a glitch or something so im not worried about that. I'm going to search some more, but if you find out the ideal image size for the wallpaper setting, I'd appreciate it because I added a few high res pics and open it looks fine but then some gets chopped off when the flip is closed.

Re: Motorola KRAVE ZN4, questions!
Hey all. I just got my Krave. Like it alot. My only question at this point is can you delete or change the home screen icons, the order of your menu icons. And who really wants vz nav on a home screen icon, or the menu when you can just click the screen.

Re: Motorola KRAVE ZN4, questions!
-Hey! Glad to have another Krave user on here I was thinking the EXACT same thing! It is useless since you can just tap the screen for the complete menu. I would definitely prefer to have the whole screen free and not have that annoying quick start menu on the top blocking space that my high-res wallpaper could be using. I'm not sure if there is a way to do that though. They could've at least made the background of the top 4 buttons transparent or something. However I am gradually figuring out how to transfer high-res wallpapers that dont get cut off when the screen is shut, so that makes it better. The screen is exceptionally clear and all images look very sharp and just awesome. How do you like the qwerty keyboard? I think a stylus would've been nice for that feature, its kind of snug.

Re: Motorola KRAVE ZN4, questions!
Thanks for the heads up.. Ventones has the user save it as a .wav file and that didn't work..
Using it as a .mp3 file allowed me to save it as a ringtone.Last edited by keatonbri; 02-22-2009 at 05:21 AM.

Re: Motorola KRAVE ZN4, questions!
-In order to convert wmv/wav in to MP3 format. Just type in free mp3/wma converter in any search engine and you will find a program for doing this. I used to have a really good one, but I recently had to do a system recovery on my desktop and it was erased, but there are a lot of good free programs out there, you'll find one.

Re: Motorola KRAVE ZN4, questions!
You can delete the history by sliding your finger across the name/number from left to right. You can also do multiple deletes this way. I do not believe that there is anyway to have more than one wall paper.
If you buy a factory USB cable (not aftermarket) and download a motrola driver and a program called P2kCommander and then you can access my ringers on the phone. For us people to cheap to buy a picture message package, this is a much more cost affective way to go. You can also add animated gifs directly to your wallpaper directory. Google it there are a lot of forums out there that will help you with this. Also if you have bluetooth capabilities with your computer you can access your card through your computer. Since I stuck my card in my phone I have not been able to read it with my computer so this is the way that works for me. (the phone locked all the my-folders on the card) I hope some of this helps.
Also you can use the cable to add midi files as ringtones.Last edited by ttg631; 04-12-2009 at 10:40 PM. Reason: Auto-merged Double post
