Re: I need serious help pleaseeee!!! Motorola SLVR.

You might be able to access the phone's file system by using a USB cable, and the software programs needed to show the files:

Motorola Software Update (MSU) - check here to download it: Motorola - Support - Software Update

P2kCommander (P2K) - check here for available versions (might have to try a few, until you find a version that works with your SLVR:
    Index of /commander

    Hope this helps!

Motorola only supports products that are under their current warranty.

If the phone is over a year old, Motorola will not support it.

nicknrm, I have heard of people not being able to d/l the latest MSU updates on an out-of-warranty Motorola phone, but does that mean they can't even d/l the existing version? Is this Moto's way of forcing people to buy MPT? For that matter, my phone has an Auto-Warranty Code of 11-16-2008. Does that mean that after 11-16-2009 I won't be able to use MSU, or just won't be able to d/l any future updates?

Well, make sure you're device is up to date before this date hits...because from that point on, you will be forced to visit a store for the software updates.

This product WILL NOT service you once you're out of warranty.

Sorry, but you can't transfer files from the phone's internal memory to your memory card. However, don't give up yet. You may be able to use another program to access the phone's file system, or at least find an alternative to MSU that will enable you to use P2kCommander to get to the picture files in your phone's internal memory. I haven't been able to download it yet, but there is a program called RSD CDMA that may be useful. Maybe nicknrm, or someone else who is familiar with this program, could shed some light here (including where to download it).

    Re: Motorola SLVR screen broken

If we can get you to your phone's file system through P2kCommander, then it's a simple matter to copy your files from the phone's internal memory right to your computer. You might have to purchase the latest version of Motorola Phone Tools (MPT) if you can't get an MSU update on your computer. You might also check with tech support at your local phone store to see if they can access your files. They may charge you for their service ... then again, they may not, especially if you're going to be buying a new phone from them!
