Hey guys, I need some help.
I hooked up my W775 phone with my laptop recently and after Motorola Software Update (MSU) told me to update, it told me to restart the phone and such. I did that, and now my phone can't even function properly. It just turns on by itself and keeps on restarting. It can't detect any network and no keys work anymore except the END button.
Any ideas?

Re: W775 Problems?!?!
Is there any way you can keep it running long enough to try doing a *228 - Send to reset it? If the phone's keypad won't let you do even that, you may have to take it in to a local Verizon store (or whoever your carrier is) and get them to see if they can reflash it to restore it. That's really strange that simply running MSU would trash your phone; my wife has the Moto W755, and has had no problems (other than sometimes it takes a few tries to get MSU to recognize the phone).

Re: W775 Problems?!?!
I just tried to do the *228 - Send thing but apparently, the keypad doesn't even register the buttons I press. Yeah, I plan on just going to a Verizon Wireless store and see if they can repair it.
Yeah, I have used MSU before but this time, after the update, it just messed up my phone. It installed and updated my phone but after I restarted it, the problem started. And yes, MSU does take some time to recognize my phone. Oh wells, I hope I can get it fixed today.
Thanks for your help!

Re: W775 Problems?!?!
So yeah, basically they couldn't fix it and all they did was replace my phone. I lost some valuable data but that's all right.
So I hooked up to MSU once more and this is what it says:
You have successfully connected your Motorola device and we can start the update process. Please read carefully the following information before you begin:
You must:
- Keep your device connected to your PC during this process.
- Keep your PC connected to the Internet.
The update process will:
- Check if new software is available for your device (this will take approximately 5 minutes).
- Upload the software to your device.
- Disable all call functionality during the software update. Hence, please be advised that during the software update, you will be unable to place or receive any call, including placing any emergency calls.
I fear updating it.
Celljimian, is your wife's W755 fully updated?
Thanks once again!

Re: W775 Problems?!?!
Yes, my wife's W755 is fully updated on MSU. Like I said, I noticed that it took several tries for her MSU to recognize her phone last night, but once it connected, it worked fine. I wonder if there are issues with the latest MSU update.
Are you able to access your phone's files using only P2kCommander without MSU running in the background? If so, what version of P2kC are you running? I have found with my wife's phone that it won't run anything later than 4.9.E.

Re: W775 Problems?!?!
Hmm, I rather not worry about it, I'll be content with my phone's condition now.
I have another problem though, I can't seem to sync my phone with Windows Media Player. I'm using Windows Vista by the way. I rather sync it through WMP rather than use P2K and manually add them.
Help please?

Check this out, spoonman ... $11.49 for a 2 GB microSD card and adapters, including a little USB card reader:
Newegg.com - Kingston 2GB MicroSD Flash Card with 2 adapters (miniSD and full-size SD) and USB reader Model MBLY/2GB - Flash Memory

Re: W775 Problems?!?!
Is Verizon your carrier? You should be able to sync using WMP, but if not, you might try using the free VCAST Music Manager:
VCAST Music with Rhapsody
I used to use Verizon's VCAST software to sync my phone before I started using the Motorola software apps with my USB cable.
Now it's really up to you, but if you had the microSD adapter, you could copy MP3s directly from your PC to the adapter with the card in it (which would show up as another drive in My Computer). Once the songs are on your microSD card, you can pop it back into the phone and start playing them.

Re: W775 Problems?!?!
Verizon is my carrier. I don't know why it's not syncing though. Yeah, if I did have the adapter, it would have been so much easier but I don't want to go and buy a new one now. Maybe in the future I guess.
Hmm, my W755 phone model is not really there unless the 755 phone model is the same thing?

Re: W775 Problems?!?!
Do you have Verizon's free VCAST Music Mgr software? If so, you should be able to sync using that. I do remember that sometimes it was a pain in the neck to get it to work, though. Sometimes I'd have to exit the program and/or disconnect the USB cable until it all finally worked together. Hope you can get it to work!
