Texting issues with Motorola i465

I get no noise when receiving text messages on motorloa i654. Anyone know how to turn it on? The phone rings fine, it's not on vibrate, messaging has a ring tone set, I really can't find any reason for the lack of sound when I receive a text. Anyone else experience this issue, how did you fix it?

Go to the menu -> Settings -> Volume -> and then go down to messages. Your message volume is different than the master volume. I had this issue with my previous phone.
