According to Motorola's co-CEO, Sanja Jha, the company is very interested in developing their own mobile OS. Motorola's co-CEO also goes on to say, “I’ve always felt that owning your OS is important, provided you have an ecosystem, you have all the services and you have an ability and the scale to execute on keeping that OS at the leading edge.”

It looks as if Motorola has bought Azingo, a US mobile software developer, to help with this development. Azingo is famous for the development of Linux based Azingo Mobile OS and brings features such as: touch and keypad UI options, WebKit-based browser, Web 2.0 experiences & widgets, and support for a wide range of phones
