Hello,

I had a Motorola Krzr I was very happy with. Unfortunately, it bit the dust - the wires between the two halves of the clam shell were brittle and finally broke.

I couldn't find my backup (free) phone, so a friend gave me her old Rokr.

It's a good phone and does what I need it to do - except it freezes on an incoming call unless I have it on silent or vibrate. It's like it can't access its ring tone directory readily - and I've noticed it takes several minutes for it to access it when I'm assigning ring tones.

Looking on the Web, I'm seeing I'm not the only one with this problem, but I'm not seeing a solution, either.

It runs on a stripped Linux system and the chip supposedly runs at 532mHz, so it should have plenty of power.

Any thoughts, folks? I have a cable on order so I can plug it into the 'puter and reprogram a few things. While I'm doing this, I'm going to strip down the gizmos a bit and see what happens with its speed.

Any help?

Thanks,

Josh
