News: Motorola XT316, aka, Motorola Fire has been officially announced

A new Android smartphone has been officially announced and it is the Motorola XT316. The Motorola XT316 is a QWERTY candybar style smartphone that has a 2.8" QVGA touchscreen display along with these following features: Moto Switch UI, HSDPA, Wi-Fi b/g/n, GPS, 3.5mm headset jack, stereo FM radio with RDS, 3MP camera, 600MHz Qualcomm MSM7227-1 processor, 256MB of RAM, 512MB of ROM, MicroSD card support (up to 32GB), and a 1,420 mAh battery.

Although the Android smartphone is named the XT316 in China, the handset will be named as the Motorola Fire when it launches in Europe and Motorola Spice Key when it launches in Latin America. The handset is also said to become available in Hong Kong and Taiwan as well.

Pricing of the XT316 has not been announced, but it is priced at $230 in China and will be upgradable from Android 2.2 Froyo to Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
