Motorola International 7500 - Keeps resetting itself with slim batteries!

Hello everybody!

I recently became a collector of vintage mobile phones, and I thought that the best way to begin my collection would be with a vintage Motorola GSM. In my case, The chosen an International 7500, due to its old-school flip design and its solidity, reliability and good audio quality. The phone arrived yesterday with three batteries, an original Ni-Cd slim battery, an aftermarket Ni-Mh slim one with 850mAh and an original Motorola extended battery with 700mAh capacity of, along with the original Motorola Ovenight desk charger.

And here's the strange issue I mentioned in the title. I've put my sim activated in 2009 into the phone, and if I use the slim batteries, the phone turns on, but it resets itself as soon as it detects the network, while if I use the extended battery, the phone works fine.

I really have no idea what could be the reason of this problem. I would like to search for a new battery but I fear I might have the same issue I'm having with the slim ones... Thanks in advance, I really would like to use the 7500, because I like that phone a lot, and brings me very good memories of my old Motorola 8200 I used to own during my childhood.
