Transfer Ringtones from a Windows PC:
- Connect your Moto E to your computer via USB
- Swipe the "Notification" bar down while viewing the home screen
- Make sure the USB connection is set to "Disk Drive"
- On the computer an AutoPlay window should appear. From there, click "Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer"
- In the Windows Explorer window that opens, access the "Media" folder on your phone
- Open the "Ringtones", "Notifications" and / or "Alarm" directories, depending on the type of sounds you wish to add to your device
- Open a second Windows Explorer window and navigate to the desired audio files stored on your PC
- Copy the files and transfer them to your target folder on the phone storage
- Once the transfer is done, click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon from the system tray
- Click "Safely Remove Mass Storage Device" > "OK"
- You can now disconnect your smartphone
Change the Phone's Ringtone:
- Access the phone's "Settings" menu from the notification area or the apps drawer
- Swipe to "Device" and tap "Sound & ringtones"
- Tap "Phone ringtone" and select the desired ringtone from the list
- Tap "OK" to assign it
- Optionally, tap "Also vibrate for calls" and set the option ON or OFF
Change a Contact's Ringtone:
- To set a custom ringtone to a specific contact, first open the "Contacts" app
- Then select the desired contact
- Tap the "Edit contact" icon and tap "Menu"
- Tap "Set ringtone"
- Select the desired ringtone from the list
- Press "OK" to confirm
Change the Phone's Notification Sound:
- Go to the phone's "Settings" menu
- Swipe to "Device" and tap "Sound & notifications"
- Under "Sound", tap "Default Notification Sound"
- Select the desired notification sound
- Tap "OK" to confirm
