Transfer Ringtones from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect your Moto E to your computer via USB
  2. Swipe the "Notification" bar down while viewing the home screen
  3. Make sure the USB connection is set to "Disk Drive"
  4. On the computer an AutoPlay window should appear. From there, click "Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer"
  5. In the Windows Explorer window that opens, access the "Media" folder on your phone
  6. Open the "Ringtones", "Notifications" and / or "Alarm" directories, depending on the type of sounds you wish to add to your device
  7. Open a second Windows Explorer window and navigate to the desired audio files stored on your PC
  8. Copy the files and transfer them to your target folder on the phone storage
  9. Once the transfer is done, click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon from the system tray
  10. Click "Safely Remove Mass Storage Device" > "OK"
  11. You can now disconnect your smartphone

Change the Phone's Ringtone:

  1. Access the phone's "Settings" menu from the notification area or the apps drawer
  2. Swipe to "Device" and tap "Sound & ringtones"
  3. Tap "Phone ringtone" and select the desired ringtone from the list
  4. Tap "OK" to assign it
  5. Optionally, tap "Also vibrate for calls" and set the option ON or OFF

Change a Contact's Ringtone:

  1. To set a custom ringtone to a specific contact, first open the "Contacts" app
  2. Then select the desired contact
  3. Tap the "Edit contact" icon and tap "Menu"
  4. Tap "Set ringtone"
  5. Select the desired ringtone from the list
  6. Press "OK" to confirm

Change the Phone's Notification Sound:

  1. Go to the phone's "Settings" menu
  2. Swipe to "Device" and tap "Sound & notifications"
  3. Under "Sound", tap "Default Notification Sound"
  4. Select the desired notification sound
  5. Tap "OK" to confirm
