Via iTunes:
NOTE: Using iTunes on a computer with Internet access you can sync your iPhone contacts with a Google account. Afterwards you can re-sync the contacts from the account with the Moto X Play.
- Connect the iPhone to your computer via USB
- Launch iTunes and click the iPhone to view the devices summary page
- Click the Info tab and mark the Sync Contacts With check box
- Select Google Contacts from the drop-down menu
- Sign in with your Google account, or if you have already added one before, click Configure and select it from the list
- Click Apply to begin the sync
- On the Moto X Play, register the same Google account and allow it to sync contacts with your phone
Via iCloud:
NOTE: In case you have used the iCloud backup service on your iPhone, your contacts should be backed up on your iCloud account. If so you can access your iCloud account on a computer connected to the Internet, and export your contacts in the form of a VCF file
- Open the Internet browser on your computer
- Visit https://www.icloud.com/ and sign in with your iCloud account
- Access Contacts and select the contacts you want to share
- Click Settings > Export vCard
- After the file is downloaded on the computer, import it to Google Contacts or instead:
- Connect the Moto X Play to your computer through USB, copy > paste the VCF file on the phone storage, and use the Contacts app and Import function to add the VCF files contents to your phonebook
Via My Contacts Backup:
NOTE: As you may have noticed the two methods above require access to a computer connected to the Internet, however you can also transfer your contacts without one, using third party applications. My Contacts Backup is a third party app for iOS that can be used to back up and transfer iPhone contacts via email.
- Open the App Store and install My Contacts Backup on your iPhone
- Tap Backup to create a VCF file containing your contacts
- Tap Email to compose a new email containing the VCF file as an attachment
- Send the email to your own address
- Switch to the Moto X Play and open the email
- Download the attached vCard file and import its contents using the Contacts application
Via Send Anywhere:
NOTE: Send Anywhere is an Android and iOS app which uses a P2P connection to transfer contacts and other file types without needing a computer.
- Visit the App Store and install Send Anywhere on the iPhone
- From the Google Play Store, install the app on the Moto X Play
- Open the application on both smartphones
- Tap Send on the iPhone
- Tap Contacts and select the ones you want to share
- Tap Send and select a method of transfer. You can select Generate QR Code on the iPhone and scan the code with the X Plays camera, or you can tap Receive on the Moto device and manually enter the transfer code generated on the iPhone
