WARNING! When you master reset your phone all your personal data stored on the internal memory will be deleted, including apps, contacts, ringtones, downloaded content etc. All settings will be restored to factory values.

NOTE: Before applying a master reset you can visit this thread to learn how you can back up and restore data on your phone.

Master Reset via Settings:

  1. From the home screen, tap “Apps
  2. Go to “Settings
  3. Swipe to “Personal” and tap “Backup & reset
  4. Tap “Factory data reset
  5. In case your phone is password protected, enter the necessary information when prompted
  6. Tap “Reset phone” and wait for the process to complete

Master Reset via Recovery (Hardware Keys):

NOTE: In case you are unable to reset your phone from the settings menu (as described above), then here’s an alternative: you can perform a master reset from the recovery menu, by performing a combination of button presses:

  1. Turn off your phone
  2. Press and hold “Volume down” and “Power” at the same time
  3. When the phone turns on, release all hardware buttons
  4. From the menu showing blue lines of text, press “Volume down / up” repeatedly to navigate to and highlight “Recovery
  5. Press “Power” to select the option and your phone should reboot in recovery mode
  6. When an Android robot with a red exclamation mark is shown, press and hold “Power”, then press and release “Volume Up”. Doing so should lead you to the “Android recovery system” screen
  7. From the recovery menu, use the volume buttons to navigate to and highlight “Wipe data / factory reset
  8. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
  9. Scroll to and highlight “Yes – erase all user data
  10. Press “Power” to confirm
