Back Up App Data:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings
  3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup & reset
  4. Turn on “Back up my data” to back up settings, Wi-Fi passwords, and account data on your Google account
  5. Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow your account to restore app data upon reinstallation

NOTE: App data backed up using this method will be automatically restored once you sign in with your Google backup account for the first time on a new phone, or after a factory reset.

Back Up Contacts:

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Go to “Accounts
  3. Select an account you want to sync contacts with
  4. Tap “Menu” > “Sync now

NOTE: The contacts backed up using this method will be restored automatically once you sign in with your Google account for the first time on a new phone, or after a factory reset.

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Establish a USB connection between your computer and Moto G Turbo Edition
  2. On the home screen, drag the “Notification” bar down and enable “Media sync / device (MTP)
  3. Launch an Explorer window on the PC and locate the media files stored on your phone
  4. Copy the files and transfer them in the desired backup location on the computer
  5. After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via the system tray, and safely disconnect the device from the USB

Restore Media Files from a Windows Computer:

  1. Connect the Moto G TE to your PC via USB
  2. Swipe the “Notification” bar down and make sure the connection is set to “Media sync / device (MTP)
  3. Open an Explorer window on the PC and locate the media files backups
  4. Copy the files, and transfer them back on your phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory
  5. After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage from the system tray and disconnect the phone from the USB connector
