Sync iPhone Contacts with Google Using iTunes:

NOTE: Using iTunes on a computer with an active Internet connection, you can sync the contacts on your iPhone with your Google account. You can then sync the account data, including contacts, with the Moto E (2016).

  • Connect the iPhone to your computer via USB
  • Launch iTunes on the computer
  • Go to the “Info” tab
  • Enable “Sync Contacts With” and select “Google Contacts” from the drop-down menu
  • Sign in with your Google account or, alternatively, click “Configure” and select an existing account
  • Click “Apply” to begin the sync
  • Once the sync is done, switch to the Moto E (2016), sign in with the same Google account used in iTunes, and allow it to sync contacts with your phone

Sync iPhone Contacts from iCloud Backup:

NOTE: In case your iPhone contacts have been previously backed up on your iCloud account, you can sign in with your account on a computer connected to the Internet, and export the contacts in vCard format for Android use.

  1. Launch the Internet browser on the computer
  2. Visit https://www.icloud.com/
  3. Sign in with your iCloud account
  4. Access “Contacts” and select the contacts you want to share
  5. Click “Settings” > “Export vCard”
  6. Wait for the vCard to be downloaded and perform one of the steps below:
    • Import the vCard via “Google Contacts”, or:
    • Connect the Moto E to your computer via USB, transfer the vCard to the phone storage, and use “Contacts” to import it

Using “My Contacts Backup”:

NOTE: The methods above require access to a computer with an active Internet connection, but alternatively you can transfer iPhone contacts using third party applications. My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that can be used to back up and share iPhone contacts via email.

  1. Visit the App Store and install “Send Anywhere” on the iPhone
  2. Launch the app and tap “Backup”
  3. Once the vCard has been created, tap “Email”
  4. Write a new email and ensure the vCard is attached
  5. Send the email and attachment to your own address
  6. Switch to the Moto E, open the email and download the vCard attachment
  7. Import the vCard via “Contacts”

Using “Send Anywhere”:

NOTE: Send Anywhere is another third party application you can use for iOS and Android. The app uses a p2p connection to transfer contacts and other file types without requiring a computer.

  1. Go to the App Store and install “Send Anywhere” on the iPhone
  2. Visit the Google Play Store and install the same app on the Moto E
  3. Launch the app on both smartphones
  4. On the iPhone, tap “Send” > “Contacts”
  5. Select the contacts you want to share and tap “Send”
  6. Select the desired transfer method. For example: you can tap “Generate QR Code” on the iPhone and scan the code with the Moto E’s camera, or tap “Receive” on the Moto E and enter the code generated on the iPhone
