Sync iPhone Contacts using iTunes:

NOTE: If you have iTunes installed on a computer with an active Internet connection, you can use the app to sync the contacts on your iPhone with your Google account. You can then sync the account data, such as contacts, with the Moto Z Play.

  1. Connect the iPhone to your computer via USB
  2. Launch iTunes on the computer and go to the “Info” section
  3. Turn on “Sync Contacts With
  4. Select “Google Contacts” from the drop-down menu
  5. Sign in with your Google account or alternatively, click “Configure” and select an existing account if applicable
  6. Click “Apply” to start the sync
  7. After the sync is complete, switch to the Motorola device and sign in with the same Google account
  8. Allow the account to sync contacts with your Android phone

Share iPhone Contacts from iCloud Backup:

NOTE: If your iPhone contacts have already been backed up on your iCloud account, you can access the account on a computer connected to the Internet and export the contacts in vCard format for Android use.

  1. Launch the Internet browser on your computer
  2. Visit https://www.icloud.com/
  3. Sign in with your iCloud account
  4. Go to “Contacts
  5. Select the contacts you want to share
  6. Click “Settings” > “Export vCard
  7. After the vCard has been downloaded, follow one of these steps:
    • Import the vCard to “Google Contacts”, or:
    • Connect the Moto Z Play to your computer via USB, transfer the vCard to the phone storage, and use “Contacts” to import it

Using “My Contacts Backup”:

NOTE: Although the methods above require access to a computer connected to the Internet, you can also transfer your iPhone contacts using third party applications. My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that allows you to back up and transfer iPhone contacts via email.

  1. Visit the App Store and install “Send Anywhere” on the iPhone
  2. Launch the app and tap “Backup” to create a vCard containing your iPhone contacts
  3. Tap “Email” after the file is done
  4. Ensure the vCard is attached to the email, and send it to your own address
  5. Switch to the Moto Z Play and open the email
  6. Download the vCard attachment, and use “Contacts” to import it to your phonebook

Using “Send Anywhere”:

NOTE: Send Anywhere is another third party app for Android and iOS, which can be used to transfer contacts and other file types, cross-platform, without requiring a computer.

  1. Go to the App Store and install “Send Anywhere
  2. Install the same app on the Moto Z Play from the Google Play Store
  3. Launch the app on both handsets
  4. Tap “Send” > “Contacts” on the iPhone
  5. Select the contacts you want to share and tap “Send” again
  6. Lastly, select a transfer method, such as “Receive” on the Moto Z Play, or “Generate QR Code” on the iPhone, and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process
