Transfer Audio Files from a Windows Computer:
- Connect the Moto M to your computer via USB
- Turn on “File Transfer (MTP)” / “Media Device (MTP)” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer and locate the desired audio files on the PC storage
- Copy the files you want to use on your phone
- Transfer the files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Ringtones” / “Notifications” / “Alarms” directories
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
Change the General Ringtone:
- Tap “Apps” on the home screen
- Open “Settings”
- Scroll to “Device”
- Tap “Sound & Notification” and select the desired ringtone
- Tap “OK” to confirm
- Optionally, you can also choose to turn “Also vibrate for calls” On or Off
Change the Ringtone of a Specific Contact:
NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be assigned to contacts located on the Sim card or the phone’s internal memory.
- Launch “Contacts”
- Tap and hold the contact you want to customize
- Tap “Edit”
- Tap “Menu” > “Set ringtone”
- Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK”
Change the Notification Sound:
- Launch “Settings”
- Scroll to “Device”
- Tap “Sound & Notification”
- Tap “Default notification ringtone”
- Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK” to confirm
