Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Moto C to your computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media device” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Using the Explorer, locate the desired audio files on the PC storage
  5. Copy and transfer the audio files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Ringtones”, “Notifications” folder(s)
  6. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord

Change the General Ringtone:

  1. Swipe up on the home screen to access the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings
  3. Tap “Sound & Notification” > “Phone ringtone
  4. Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK
  5. Optionally, turn “Also vibrate for calls” On or Off

Change a Contact’s Ringtone:

NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be assigned for contacts stored on the SIM card or the phone’s internal memory.

  1. Launch “Contacts
  2. Go to “All Contacts
  3. Select the contact you want to customize and tap “Edit
  4. Tap “Menu” > “Set ringtone
  5. Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK

Change the Notification Sound:

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Scroll to “Device
  3. Tap “Sound & Notification
  4. Tap “Default notification ringtone
  5. Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK
