WARNING! When you factory reset your device, all your personal data stored on the phone’s internal memory will be deleted, including media files and ringtones, contacts, apps, downloaded content etc. However, data located on the SD and SIM card will not be affected.

NOTE: Before you factory reset your device, you can check this thread for a guide on how to back up and restore data.

Factory Reset via Settings:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings
  3. Scroll to “Personal
  4. Tap “Backup & reset
  5. If the phone is protected by a lock screen, enter your password/pattern/PIN to proceed
  6. Tap “Reset phone” and follow the on-screen steps to complete the process

Factory Reset via Recovery:

NOTE: In case you are unable to reset your device via Settings, alternatively you can try resetting the device from the Android System Recovery menu, which can be accessed by performing the following steps:

  1. First make sure the phone is powered Off
  2. Press and hold “Power” and “Volume down” at the same time
  3. After roughly 5 seconds, release both buttons to gain access to “Boot Mode Selection
  4. Press “Volume down” to navigate to and highlight “Recovery
  5. Press “Volume Up” to select the highlighted option
  6. At the “No Command” screen, press and release “Volume Up” and “Power” at the same time until you gain access to Android Recovery
  7. Once in Recovery, highlight “Wipe data/factory reset” using the volume rocker, and press “Power” to confirm
  8. At the prompt, select to delete “Userdata only” or “Userdata + personalized content” and press “Power
  9. After the phone resets, highlight “Reboot system now” and press “Power

Update the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: To check if new updates are available for download:

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Tap “About phone” under “System
  3. Tap “System updates
  4. If available, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply the updates. NOTE: the process will require at least one reboot
