Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Go to “Device” and tap “Battery
  3. Tap “Menu
  4. Enable “Battery saver

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
  3. Launch “Settings
  4. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Display
  5. Optionally, enable or disable “Adaptive brightness
  6. For timeout duration, tap “Sleep” and select a lower value

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity features Off when not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. Tap the “Wi-Fi” “Location” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to disable these features
  3. Launch “Settings” for more options
  4. Go to “Location” for more GPS settings, tap “mode” and enable “Battery saving
  5. For hotspot options, return to “Settings” and tap “more” under “Wireless & Networks
  6. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and set the switch Off

Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by switching to 2G networks temporarily.

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & networks
  3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “preferred network type
  4. Enable “2G

Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect battery life even when not actively in use. By removing or disabling unused third-party apps from the phone you can potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open “Settings” and go to “Apps
  2. Ensure “All apps” is selected
  3. Tap the desired application
  4. To disable the app, tap “Force Stop
  5. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall

Reduce Sync:

NOTE: You can change your accounts’ settings to reduce the amount of data synced by your apps and accounts.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Access “Personal
  3. Tap “Accounts
  4. Select an account type and the desired account
  5. Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date. To check for new updates:

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Access “About phone” > “System updates
  3. Check if a new update is available
  4. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process
