WARNING! By factory resetting your phone, all the personal data located on the device will be deleted, including apps, contacts, media files, downloaded content, ringtones etc. Additionally, all settings will be restored to factory values, but data located on the SIM and SD cards won’t be affected.

NOTE: Before you factory reset your device, you can check this thread for instructions on how to back up and restore data.

Factory Reset via Settings:

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Tap “Backup & reset” under “Personal
  3. If your device is protected by a lock screen, enter your password/PIN to proceed
  4. Tap “Reset phone” and follow the on-screen steps to complete the process

Factory Reset via Android Recovery:

  1. Make sure the phone is powered Off
  2. Press and hold “Power” and “Volume down” at the same time
  3. Release the buttons once you gain access to “Boot Mode Selection
  4. Press “Volume down” to navigate the menu and highlight “Recovery
  5. Press “Volume up” to select the highlighted option
  6. At the “No Command” screen, press and release “Power” and “Volume Up” at the same time for several times to gain access to Android Recovery
  7. From the Recovery menu, press “Volume down” repeatedly to navigate to and highlight “Wipe data/factory reset
  8. Press “Power” to confirm the option
  9. Highlight “Userdata only” or “Userdata + personalized content
  10. Press “Power
  11. Once the process completes, ensure “Reboot system now” is highlighted and press “Power
