Back Up & Restore App Data:

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Go to “Personal
  3. Tap “Backup & Reset
  4. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to your backup account
  5. Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow data to be restored automatically when reinstalling apps or logging in with the backup account

Back Up & Restore Contacts:

  1. Launch “Contacts
  2. Go to “Accounts
  3. Select an account type
  4. Tap the account you want to use for backing up your contacts
  5. Make sure the “Contacts” tick box is checked
  6. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now

NOTE: Contacts backed up using this method can be restored automatically the next time you log in with the backup account or by manually syncing the account data, including contacts, with the phone.

Back Up Media Files on a PC:

  1. Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
  2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer and locate the media files on the phone
  4. Copy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the PC
  5. Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

Restore Media Files from a PC:

  1. Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media file backups on the PC
  5. Copy and paste the files to the phone storage, preferably in the “Ringtones” and “Notifications
  6. Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
