Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Launch “Settings”
- Go to “Personal” and tap “Backup & Reset”
- Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to your backup account
- Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to be restored automatically the next time you log in with your backup account
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Open “Contacts”
- Access “Accounts”
- Select an account type and the account you want to use for the backup
- Ensure “Contacts” is checked
- Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”
NOTE: Contacts backed up using this method can be automatically restored the next time you sign in with your backup account or by manually syncing the account data – and contacts – with the phone.
Back Up Media Files on a PC:
- Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
- Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media files on the phone
- Copy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the computer
- After the transfer completes, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
- Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the PC
- Navigate to the media backup files on the PC storage
- Copy and transfer the files to the phone storage, preferably in the “Ringtones” and “Notifications” folders
- Once the transfer completes, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
