WARNING! When you factory reset your phone, all the personal data stored on the phone will be deleted, including downloaded content, media files, apps, contacts etc. Additionally, all the settings will be restored to factory values, however data stored on the SD storage and SIM card won’t be affected.

NOTE: Before you factory reset your phone, you can check this thread for a guide on how to back up and restore app data, contacts, and media.

Factory Reset via Settings:

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Access “Backup & reset
  3. If your phone is protected by a lock screen, enter your PIN/password to proceed
  4. Tap “Reset phone
  5. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process

Factory Reset via Recovery:

  1. First ensure the phone is powered Off
  2. Next, press and hold “Power” and “Volume down” at the same time
  3. Once you gain access to “Boot Mode Selection” release the keys
  4. Navigate the menu by pressing “Volume down” and highlight “Recovery
  5. Press “Volume Up” to select the highlighted option
  6. At the “No Command” screen, press and release “Power” and “Volume Up” for several times until you gain access to Recovery
  7. Once in Recovery, press “Volume down” repeatedly to navigate and highlight “Wipe data/factory reset
  8. Press “Power
  9. Highlight “Userdata only” or “Userdata + personalized content
  10. Press “Power” and once the process is complete, ensure “Reboot system now” is highlighted
  11. Press “Power” one last time to confirm
