Back Up & Restore App Data:

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Go to “Personal
  3. Tap “Backup & Reset
  4. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to your backup account
  5. Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored automatically the next time you log in with the backup account

Back Up & Restore Contacts:

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Access “Accounts
  3. Select an account type
  4. Tap the desired account
  5. Make sure “Contacts” is checked then tap “Menu” > “Sync Now

NOTE: Contacts can be restored automatically the next time you log in with the backup account or by manually syncing the account data and contacts with the phone.

Back Up Media Files on a PC:

  1. Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
  2. On the phone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media files on the phone
  5. Copy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the computer
  6. Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port

Restore Media Files from a PC:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the Android device and computer
  2. On the phone, enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the Notification area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media backup files on the computer storage
  5. Copy and transfer the files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders of origin
  6. Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
