WARNING! When factory resetting your device, all your personal data stored on the phone’s internal memory will be deleted. This includes media files and ringtones, contacts, apps, downloads etc. Additionally all settings will be restored to factory values, but data located on the SIM and SD cards won’t be affected.

NOTE: You can check this thread for a guide on backing up and restoring data on the device before the reset.

Factory Reset via Settings:

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Go to “Backup & Reset
  3. If your phone is protected by a lock screen, enter your password/PIN to proceed
  4. Tap “Reset phone

Factory Reset via Android Recovery:

  1. Turn the phone Off
  2. Press and hold “Power” and “Volume down” at the same time
  3. Release the buttons while in the Boot Mode Selection menu
  4. Press “Volume down” to navigate the menu and highlight “Recovery
  5. Press “Volume Up” to select the highlighted option
  6. At the “No Command” screen, press and release “Volume Up” and “Power” several times until you gain access to Recovery
  7. While in Android Recovery, press “Volume down” repeatedly to navigate to and highlight “Wipe data/factory reset
  8. Press “Power” to select the option
  9. Highlight ‘Userdata only” or “Userdata + personalized content
  10. Press “Power” and then highlight “Reboot system now
  11. Press “Power” one last time to confirm
