Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- Drag the brightness slider towards the left
- Open “Settings” and tap “Display”
- Go to “Advanced” and tap “Sleep”
- Select a lower timeout value
Enable Battery Optimization:
- Open “Settings”
- Go to “Battery” > “Battery optimization”
- Tap an app to optimize it
- In addition, you can tap “Menu” and enable “Advanced optimization”
Disable Connectivity When Unused:
NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity features Off when not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.
- On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
- Tap the “GPS (Location)” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to turn off the features
- Tap and hold the Wi-Fi option and set the switch “OFF” to disable Wi-Fi
- For more options, open “Settings” and go to “Network & Internet”
- Tap “Hotspot & Tethering” and select “Wi-Fi Hotspot”
- Tap the toggle to disable the feature
Uninstall Third-Party Apps:
NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the device’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. To remove third-party apps:
- Open “Settings” and access “Apps & Notifications”
- Switch to “See all apps” if needed
- Select the desired app
- Tap “Uninstall” > “OK” to confirm
Keep the OS Updated:
NOTE: OS updates can potentially improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS updated at all times.
- Swipe the home screen up from the bottom
- Open “Settings” > “System”
- Tap “System update”
- Tap “Check for update” and if applicable, follow the prompts to download and apply available updates
