removing icons above the line on home screen

phone - Moto g power (2022)

I am a very new user to smart phones in general and Moto g power in particular. I have tried to wade through a downloaded user guide but... good luck with that. Basically I've tried to make some changes to my home screen and have moved some icons above the line, However somehow I have
been able to create duplicates of some of the icons e.g. duo. It now appears above the line and in the favorites tray. I want to remove / delete the
icon above the tray be have not figured out how. I can not move it below the line because I receive the msg. ' The favorite tray is full' .
So.. how do I delete the icon above the line ?
